Steps to reproduce:

I was trying to get help at the firefox help web sites. The pages wouldn't let me enter anything in the data fields, so I effectively couldn't get any help whatsoever.

What page where you at?

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile

Thank you for responding.

I tried safe mode and a blank profile. Neither solved the problem. To be specific: I went to http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/home?as=u and attempted to enter text into the search box at the top of the page. All I got was a boop sound each time I hit a key and no entry.
