Steps to reproduce:

Hello,

I can no more save a new mail as html file.
To reproduce this bug:
Create a new mail, write some text then try to save it as a html file
--> menu "File", "Save as", "File". Normally, a dialog box appears to save the file. But for the version 11, when I click on the file menu choice, nothing appen.
I reproduced this bug on 2 thudnerbird 11 version, for mac and another on linux.

Actually, saving as HTML, text or as email saves the file as you have chosen it, but the file extension is not being updated accordingly by Thunderbird. Strange!

Anyway, this bug is similar to bug 339596.

Tested with:

Hashem, I have not a problem with the extension, the bug is: I can not save new mail as file, no dialog box appearing to save the file.

So you are saying, previous version didn't have this issue? Can you check the Tools ➩ Error Console if there are any errors?
I have only this error message:

I don't know if it is related to my bug. I'm using the "Save as file" for several version now and it is the first time for me it's buggy. I don't remeber if this functionnality ran good in the previous version.
Had an empty subject? If so, resolve as duplicate of bug 718480 (fixed for tb13).

That's right, if I specify a subject, gtk dialog box save as appear and I could save the mail as a file.
