Steps to reproduce:

I've started Firefox from taskbar "as administrator" (shift + right mouse click -> start as administrator)


Actual results:

There is no tab preview at all (while settings are set to display preview and in "normal" start mode there are displayed preview tabs)

Expected results:

Tabs should be availiable to be displayed as preview (like in default start mode)

Check this:

Options -> Tabs -> Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar

I just found your old bug report and was wondering that it is open for such a long time...
can you please confirm that this is no more a problem on your site?
on my site i made some tests with different user-permissions and on actual firefox 33 all worked.

I'm on Win8.1 now, with  Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0
With and without addons - this is still happening (preview tabs is checked in both elevated and normal mode)

Hi Filip,

I think i need some more informations to reproduce it:
- what permission group has your user on your system?
- is the problem also there if you log in with an administration account?
- was it an update from win7 to 8? or are you using sync for firefox settings?

- I'm on administrator type account (single account in the system)
- yes, it's the only account I have
- I'm using Sync

strange thing...

while lunch-time i just test the problem on some systems in our office and all of them worked correctly.

i have just one more idea - can you please try to use a new profile for a test?

Sorry for the delay...
Just created new profile, started my Aurora and checked tabs preview in options (appeared on taskbar - so it's working)

Closed Aurora, right clicked taskbar shortcut - selected run as administrator

And again - no preview for all opened tabs (only actually selected tab is previewed)

OK,

some more tests and now I could reproduce it.
on an virtual system (win 7 32bit) it happens in beta to nightly version of firefox.
but I was not able to reproduce on firefox 33.0.2!
