Just to be clear. Everything continued to operate 'normally'. I did not experience any problems beyond the errors notifications. Flash, Jave all worked even the saved 'google earth' .kml file

Do you know what plugin that plugin-container was running? Flash, java, vlc plugin, google earth plugin?
I don't know if your google maps is Flash or WebGL, but could you try setting google maps to webGL if you have problems with Flash?
It's guesswork to try to figure out which plugin it might have been.
