User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.963.56 Safari/535.11
Steps to reproduce:
Why regression? One of my users says that this very same event could be imported in Linghtning 1.0b2.105i (which actually came from Inverse; it is hard to say if this was also the case with the original 1.0b2).
Environment: Thunderbird 10.0.3esr, Lightning 1.2.3 and a CalDAV calendar hosted on SOGo 1.3.14
Steps to reproduce:
(1) Go to a calendar view containing the date 2012-03-19
(2) Main menu > Import ... > Select 2012-03-19.ics > Import
Actual results:
(3) Unexpected: The event can shortly be seen in the calendar view, but when one navigates to another day and back, it disappears. The event was not imported in the CalDAV calendar at all, which can be seen using another client - an iCal4j script in our case.
There is an error with Invalid alarm in the error console, but it is not the real problem as the workaround shows:
Workaround Part 1:
Open the 2012-03-19.ics file in a text editor and remove the whole ATTACH attribute. The modified event gets imported, can be seen in the event list, but cannot be seen in the calendar view.
Workaround Part 2:
Note, that there is no such category "Datech Core" in the preferences of the user runnig Thunderbird. Moreover, the calendar.categories.names preference comes locked over autoadmin.global_config_url.
Let us see if removig the inexistent category helps: Open the 2012-03-19.ics file in a text editor and remove the whole CATEGORIES attribute. The modified event works as expected.
Expected results:
Hard to say what should be the expected behaviour in this case. I would say that lightning should:
(i) Warn that BASE64 Attachments are not supported and that they will be ignored. They should then also really be ignored and should not cause any problems.
(ii) Warn that all categories which is are not availble in the local preferences will be ignored.
