Steps to reproduce:

I loaded up the new tab page.


Actual results:

Some thumbnails are missing. Only for URLs not completely loaded, which could confuse end users and make the feature of the new tab page less useful.


Expected results:

Every single thumbnail should have loaded.

If you middle click that particular site and refresh the new tab page afterwards, is the thumbnail loaded?

Yes, but my point is that this will likely confuse new users.

Agreed. There have been several reports related to thumbnails for the New tab Page. A new custom storage will be implemented in bug 744388 to mitigate those. This issue should be fixed when that is resolved.

Marking this as Resolved > Worksforme since it cannot be reproduced anymore on the latest versions of Firefox Nightly 96.0a1 (2021-11-10) , beta 95.0b5 or release 94.0.1 on Ununtu 20.04.
If anyone can still reproduce this issue please re-open the bug or file a new one.
