User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0
Build ID: 20120312181643
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to save a file to a windows UNC location. This works when Thunderbird can access the location, but it was missing when I was on a different network. Clearing messenger.save.dir entry clears the problem. This can happen when a user saves a file to a unc such as \\foo\my_stuff and then on a network where foo does not exist tries to save an attachment. This causes Thunderbird to hang.
Actual results:
Thunderbird hangs.
Expected results:
The explorer save file dialog should have opened or the file should have been saved.

does Firefox hangs too when you save to \\unc ?
If the unc link is available there is no problem. This only happens when the unc link is unavailable because the computer is on a different network. This happens when I save to a unc location at my work then carry my laptop home and try to save a file from Thunderbird.
