Steps to reproduce:

If you bookmarked a website with a favicon which is later removed, the bookmark will hold on to that favicon "forever".

STR:
1. Make a simple html page with a favicon
2. Bookmark it (the favicon will be shown with the bookmark)
3. Remove the reference to the favicon in the html page
4. Click in the bookmark

You can also try to:
5. Delete the bookmark 
6. Bookmark the html page again

Expected results: The favicon disappears
Actual results: The favicon persists

This is no big deal in most cases, it is however annoying in some cases, e.g.:
* If a website without a favicon fails to load and gets the "server not found" favicon (yellow triangle with exclamation mark), this favicon will persist "forever".
* If a website without a favicon redirects to another website with a favicon, it will get that website's favicon even when it no longer redirects to it.

I've a very similar thing here;  maybe stemming from the same root.

(site icon is in bookmarks toolbar)
The old favicon got replaced at some point, at an upgrade.  The toolbar has picked it up somewhat later (few weeks I think) - that's when I've noticed it.  I've changed the favicon on the site back to the original.  But the bookmark toolbar does not get updated - for a good week now.

(I've checked the same in chrome, and it has picked up the change immediately)

What's also interesting: if I go to Bookmarks->Show all bookmarks, it shows the correct icon (either it has picked up the change quickly, or it may never have picked up on any change...not sure) The point is; the same bookmark is displayed using different favicons in different views.



All in all, I think bookmarks should be checked way more often for correct favicon, or alternatively, allow the user the force the refresh of the icon would be nice.
