I would run that xapply in parallel with: xapply -mP13 -ft /tmp/ksb/hosts 'ssh %t1 %Q*' cmd For a log file I might add a title header, like: xapply -e XCLATE="-T'%Q1 on %t1'" -mP13 ... >my.log Failed test with -N reporting would be nifty as well, but that requires an explicit xclate wrapper and -N (at least). --ksb
