User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120419 Firefox/13.0a2
Build ID: 20120419042011

Steps to reproduce:

in Bookmarks (BM) Library, search for a (any) term. Then, Drag and Drop (dnd) from search results (right pane) to a folder in the left hand (folder tree) pane.

Actual results:

When I 'drop' the BM on a folder, sub-folder in the left hand (tree) pane, the BM is Copied, Not Moved. (with Not modifier key press). This has been the case for several months.

Expected results:

The Bookmark should Move from the sub-directory (folder) it is in, but is currently listed in Search Results To the folder in the BM folder tree that I drop it on.
Unless I use a modifier key such as Alt, Ctrl or Shift...
Which reminds me that Control (Ctrl) no longer Move BM either. Used to be that Ctrl 'moved' and Shift 'copied' what was dragged. For a year or more, they both 'copy' BM.
The Only way to 'move' the BM is to right click (context menu) 'cut' navigate to different, new sub-folder and right click, 'paste'. This sucks, because you in effect terminate your search results and have to 'start over'..
Component: Untriaged → Bookmarks & History
in this series of 4 screen shots i show:
1: search with results - using "HTML5 comment Tag" Bookmark in my example
2: Drag and Drop "HTML5 comment Tag" from Search with parent folder of <code><html> to <code><code> snippets (just a sub-folder of the same parent folder, this part doesn't matter. it'll happen the same regardless of the folder, sub-folder locations)
3: Notice, the BM "HTML5 comment Tag" has been Copied and Not Moved (using No modifier key)
4: Notice the 'plus sign' appears with either (both) Shift and Ctrl.

Note. the chain icon that is on dnd icon with not modifier at one point 'linked' the dragged bm to the original (created a shortcut?) and when the original was deleted it deleted the other.. Did NOT like that. Fortunately it only happened once, several months ago. The LINKING would be a really go Idea IF user (I) knew I was doing it so that I didn't delete original files later.. blah, blah..

Landis.
