The new plugins permission model implemented by bug 711618 is not working for Java plugins? Test case: http://brasilbandalarga.com.br/index.php/speedtest (portuguese), this page requires Java, but the popup asking for plugin permission don't appears.

I get the following message from the website: "Seu navegador falta um ou mais recursos necessários." Maybe it's a tech evangelism bug.

I agree that this is mostly evangelism. They check for the applet, but because it hasn't loaded, they assume the browser doesn't support or have the plugin. However, (and I think this was discussed elsewhere, but I don't remember where), it might be good to have a way of indicating to script on the page that a plugin is click-to-play (unless we have one already?)

Other example on my home banking: https://www2.bancobrasil.com.br/aapf/login.jsp?aapf.IDH=sim&perfil=1 Looks like this is very common.
