Can you check your firewall and see if Thunderbird is still allowed to access the internet - that happens sometimes after updates.

(In reply to Ludovic Hirlimann [:Usul] from comment #2) > Can you check your firewall and see if Thunderbird is still allowed to > access the internet - that happens sometimes after updates. Tunderbird still collects other accounts (ISP, Yahoo, hotmail) but not Gmail. So Thunderbird must connect the internet.

The log is quite short. It seems the connection is broken very early. David Bienvenu?

I removed the gmail acount from Thunderbird and tried to add it again. Error: username/password cannot be verified. Same logging, short according to you, appears again.

Same logging, short according > to you, appears again. Problem solved; I replaced also yesterday my router; when I changed the setting of the firewall in the router I also got connection to gmail. This is apparently the only issue I had with the router.

(In reply to :aceman from comment #9) > You had blocked the IMAP port on the firewall? No; The firewall was enabled in the router but no filtering was set. So I was surprised that disabeling the firewall in the router solved the problem.
