Am filing this bug to track the creation (or handoff if it already exists) of the overview to product design for Thunderbird as noted at https://wiki.mozilla.org/OneMozilla/StyleGuide#Content_Outline.

That section is still in need of an outline for Thunderbird-related content, but there are plenty of examples to follow from the other product sections if you need inspiration.

I think mostly copying the Firefox outline is a reasonable path to take.

So I would go with an outline that looked like this:

    INTRODUCTION
        Overall UI
            General (Colors / Textures / Forms)
        Common Elements (Buttons / Fields / Shapes / Icons / Thumbnails) 

    MAIN WINDOW
        Overview (Key parts of the UI)
        Parts (for each: Styles and Dimensions)
            Window Frame
            Tabs
            Toolbar
            Buttons, Controls and Icons
            Indicators (Addons / Password)

    ADDRESS BOOK WINDOW
        Overview (Key parts of the UI)
        Parts (for each: Styles and Dimensions)
            Window Frame

            Preview Pane
            Buttons, Controls and Icons

    COMPOSE WINDOW
        Overview (Key parts of the UI)
            HTML vs. Plain Text
