There is no way to link a Lightning Task/Event to Mail Messages and the opposite. 

It is important to be able to associate Events with Mail Messages and possibly with other Events/Tasks too

If such a feature is added, right clicking on a message should include:

1/ An option like:
  Linked to > Events > "List of Linked Events"
  Linked to > Tasks > "List of Linked Tasks"
 and clicking to on of these would take the user to the respective Event/Task.

2/ An option like:
  Create linked > Event
  Create linked > Task

Similar functionality should be included to Events and Tasks (in Lightning) with Right clicking.

Opening an Event/Task should include a list of linked mail messages, linked Events and linked Tasks (each clickable).
