User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0 Build ID: 20120423142301 Steps to reproduce: Upgraded from Firefox 11 to Firefox 12 in Linux Actual results: FF12 removed Novell/MS Moonlight 3.99 as an incompatible plugin. Stated that no suitable replacement plugin was available Expected results: Went to microsoft.com/silverlight and reinstalled Novell/MS Moonlight 3.99 for Linux in Firefox 12, through Firefox without incident. Tested Plugin and it worked fine. FF12(Linux) unnecessary removed functional plugin, Moonlight 3.99.
Plugins are not removed, only extensions as far as i know. It's quite possible that a downloaded extension with the same extension version comes with different "compatible with" string.
Component: Untriaged → Extension Compatibility
It seems like this was just a misunderstanding as to how the plugin disappeared.
