Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
Build ID: 20120420145725

Steps to reproduce:

Visited AMO (Firefox related link)...
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
and entered the word Compact into the search field...

Actual results:

Without further action the dropdown list that the search-box display contains extensions for applications other than Firefox... in this case, one of the results displays CompactMenu which is a Thunderbird-only extension...AFAIK, but it's certainly not a Firefox ext.

Expected results:

Only those products found on that side of AMO (in this case, the title of the link states that the "stuff" here is for Firefox) should only display those items for Firefox.

CompactMenu is an add-on (and extension) that is supported on Firefox: http://i.imgur.com/dq2qH.png

And it is expected that we show all Firefox add-ons (not only extensions) when you're on the Firefox homepage.

Maybe I didn't describe the issue properly... but I think I did...

When on the "Firefox" addons web-page and you enter say... Compact into the search window, the site presents a dropdown suggestion listing of those items containing the word "compact"... and, in that listing are suggestions for extensions that are "not" related to Firefox but in my testing... a user can click on one of those suggestions and will be taken over to the TB addons page.

It seems to me that if one is on the Firefox addons page and the site suggests items for a term entered into the search window ... that "only" suggestions for Firefox should be presented and not unrelated applications... That does not make sense to me.
