Created attachment 621573 [details] jquery-error.jpg User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.168 Safari/535.19 Steps to reproduce: 1. Visit http://new.webcams.travel/webcam.php 2. Click on "Yes" at "Is this page useful to you" in the page footer 3. Sometimes, a second click is required for the failure to result Actual results: Firefox does not react anymore. Instead, the dialog whether I want to stop jQuery or not shows up. Even after stoping the script, the SAME dialogue shows up again and again. Even when checking the option "Do not show this dialogue again"! In other words: Firefox crashes without even recognizing it! Expected results: The content hidden with "display:none" should have been displayed by jQuery function ".show()". This correct behaviour, however, is the result of Google Chrome(!)
Keywords: crash, hang

"(note severity=blocker means blocking development, which this bug is not)" > ok, thank you for the correction "possibly a duplicate of one of these" > actually, it is not a duplicate. however, the unresponsive script warning itself does not disappear. it appears again instantly when trying to get rid of it. so, they script warning itself is buggy!

Unresponsive script stuff lives in the DOM. Unfortunately, there are lots of ways to work around it (e.g. by setting an interval timer, because stopping the script does not cancel timers). So if the page is doing that (and it sounds like it's doing _something_ differently in Chrome and Firefox), that would explain the behavior.

This would explain the constant appearance of the unresponsive script error. > However, why does this error appear in the first place? > The script has no special treatment for Firefox/chrome/etc. So, why does it work in Chrome? > And also, what does the strange JS error mean that also only appears in Firefox: Zeitstempel: 10.07.2012 09:00:01 Fehler: syntax error Quelldatei: http://new.webcams.travel/webcam.php Zeile: 1 Quelltext: <!doctype html>
