In TB in Composition card is a link for downloading dictionaries. Something similar should be in Firefox maybe in "Options -> Content" (below Languages).

There is one, even at the *exact* same location : in the popup where you can switch the languages. There should be easier way (in the menubar or in the spelling-button), but that's both on Thunderbird and Firefox. Note that the Languages setting in the Content pane, has nothing to do with the dictionary in itself (even though many people would probably choose the same language for both settings). But a link to the dictionaries would indeed be appropriate here.s Another proposal (possibly better) would be to add an entry in the Add-ons Manager, see bug 338074.
