75418 - Cannot get into secured sites

When I try to go to a secured site, browser hangs.
Steps to Reporoduce:
1.  go to www.hotmail.com and try to log on with account name and password -
account will not load and browser freezes.
or 
2. Go to any secured site such as https://digitalid.verisign.com/ and browser
will not load page and just hang.

I noticed this behavior with Mozilla nightly builds 2001041004 and 2001040604.

Maybe I am doing something wrong.
I downloaded the mozilla build and unzipped it.
Is ther some other configuration I need to do in order to access secured sites?

This worksforme with 041004 mozilla trunk build on win2K.  I've tested
hotmail.com, https://digitalid.verisign.com/ and https://www.sourceforge.net
(inclusing ssl login).

It still does not work for me or a co-worker who tried the same steps as I did.
I am using manual proxy configuration and am behind a firewall.

reopening while we investigate if SSL through proxy has regressed.  I'm not
behind a proxy server so I'll need some help confirming this.

ben, any chance you can test or give me a proxy server I can test through.

Thao,

Please send us the prefs.js lines that start with "network.proxy". Also, look
for a all-proxy.js.

Based on that, we can gather some more information and see what is going on.
