User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_7_4) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.168 Safari/535.19 Steps to reproduce: When I find this Template:MobileMobile page and want to translate it into zh-TW locale: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/templatemobilemobile Actual results: I can't find the usual "Translate Article" option on the top-right area. This template:MobileMobile is used in the Firefox for Mobile - Common Questions page: https://support.mozilla.org/zh-TW/kb/mobile-home-mobile-common-questions#os=android&browser=m10 therefore, we don't know how to tell our contributors how to translate it ^^; Expected results: It should be able to let me translate it. Just like some other pages, I can use the "Translate Article" function to start the translating work.

also on every localization dashboard, at template section most of article are links as en-US, example if you go to Bengali localization dashboard :https://support.mozilla.org/bn-IN/localization at template section most of them are in en-US version. but it should bn-IN
There's one clue, I found these articles which can't be translated, are also not listed in Template section of Localization Dashboard: https://support.mozilla.org/zh-TW/localization/template-translations Hope it's a useful information for you :)
The issue is that this article above doesn't have an 'allow translation' flag set. I will have to check back with the SUMO team to ensure that this is not needed in any way.
The Allow Translation box is unchecked because the template contains only links to articles. Those links are automatically translated if the localized article exists. See https://support.mozilla.org/fr/kb/fxhome-home-mobile-common-questions that uses this unlocalizable template. We should close this bug as invalid.
I don't think this bug should be closed at this moment. We still don't know how to localize this kind of articles or templates. The system can automatically translate to the localized article titles, but another problem would be: there're many articles (A) use the "redirect" flag to redirect to another article (B). We can translate article (B), this is true. But the system is going to read article title from article (A) which some of them are not allow to be translated. Therefore, it becomes a problem for us to localize these articles. For example: The Mobile start page: https://support.mozilla.org/zh-TW/kb/mobile-home-mobile-common-questions#os=android&browser=m10 which contains a template:MobileMobile (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/templatemobilemobile) this page is not allowed for us to translate, but if this article can be translated, we can change the wordings in this article, such as: change "*[[Download and install Firefox Mobile | Download and install]]" to "*[[Download and install Firefox Mobile | 下載與安裝]]". You can see even that we have translated the article "Download and install Firefox Mobile" into our locale (https://support.mozilla.org/zh-TW/kb/download-and-install-firefox-android#os=android&browser=m10), but the 2nd link of this template is still showing in English. It's our PROBLEM. It will be very helpful and easy for us to edit/show the correct wordings in our locales without editing/localizing the target article's title. Content of template:MobileMobile is attached as below for reference: *[[Get started with Firefox for Android]] *[[Download and install Firefox Mobile | Download and install]] *[[Get Android add-ons, customize controls, options and preferences]] *[[Configure mobile privacy and security settings]] *[[Fix mobile slowness, crashing, error messages and other problems]] *[[Firefox mobile for Android tutorials | Firefox for Android tutorials]]
First, you've translated the latest revision of https://support.mozilla.org/kb/mobile-home-explore that has been incorrectly marked as ready for localization (the new IA is still in test - same issue as described in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/knowledge-base-articles/708345?last=46638#post-46581). It links to navigation articles that are not ready for localization. Then, you're right about the template because it's not allowed to change the title of an article in an unlocalizable template. Every localized home pages on mobile are now in English.
Thanks Scoobidiver, it's very clear. "Every localized home pages on mobile are now in English."... ><" I also read this issue on sumo leader mailing list a few hours ago. This bug may change to INVALID status, and wait for the moment to localize the pages for mobile :)
The article wasn't marked as localizable.
