A lot of product based functionality driven tests require duplicate instructions (essentially pre-conditions). It would be fantastic if I can clone a set of pre-made instructions along with their expectations. I would imagine the instruction and expectation fields would be populated after a selection.
I'd like to understand this request a little better. There are a couple options currently on the table for you. But if you could describe how you'd like them to be different, we could clarify what you're looking for. 1. Clone a test case - Any test case can be cloned so that it has all the same steps and data. Then you can go in and edit the case to make it a "new case" 2. Preconditions can be formatted with markdown format in the "description" field and this description will be displayed while running the test. For an example, see this: https://moztrap-dev.allizom.org/manage/case/866/ Do either of these address what you're looking for? If not, would you describe in more detail what you'd like?
Hey Cameron, Thanks for the quick response: Re: 1. Yes, that seems like a suitable solution, one could simply select this, but it may require changes to all other fields other than instructions. 2. I think this is what I'm looking for actually. I assume these get cloned too? Combined, I think that this would address my request actually.
Aaron, yeah, descriptions get cloned. Great! So I'll close this bug as, I guess, invalid since no action is required. :) If it's a set of preconditions that you use all the time, you could keep it in any text editor/wiki/evernote/etc if that makes it easier to get them.
