User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12 Build ID: 20120509070325 Steps to reproduce: I upgraded from Firefox 12 Stable to Firefox 13 Beta. I have tried 2 things - installing extensions and submitting feedback to the Beta program. Actual results: When trying to install a new extension from the following page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/spdy-indicator/ It says "Not available for Firefox 3.6.12" despite me using Firefox 13 Beta! Then, when trying to submit feedback about this via the feedback page linked to on the Beta program website, http://input.mozilla.com/en-US/feedback I get the message that: "Oh! So, you want to offer us feedback on Firefox. Thank you, but you'll need to be on the latest version. To do that, simply go to our download page and install/update to the latest version of Firefox!" How is anybody going to give you feedback through your directed channels if you don't let them? To verify, I used another source to check the version. http://www.cyscape.com/showbrow.asp?bhcp=1 It reports 3.6.12 as well. Expected results: Browser should report to websites that it is Firefox 13 (not 3.6 or 3.6.12) Extensions should properly install for the proper compatibility. Should be able to submit feedback through the beta page for the latest beta
Your UA string is likely overridden to an old version for some reason. Reset it using the instructions here: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-incorrectly-report-firefox-outdated-or-in
Indeed, that was the case. I'm not sure if I had modified that at some point in the past, or if something about updating to the Beta version had caused this behavior. Thanks for the fast response!
