Steps to reproduce:

On debian squeeze with icedove/thunderbird-esr - lightning 1.2.3
Mounted an encfs store. Relocated my profile to the encfs store. Started icedove/thunderbird with lightning add-on


Actual results:

Email folders appear fine but calendar and tasks screens are empty of information.


Expected results:

Email folders, calendars, and tasks should work on encfs  as on normal file system.
Is the encfs partition mounted with the "exec" flag? Lightning contains binary components and requires it. Compare Bug 357493, Bug 383653.
Good spot. fstab exec works a treat:

encfs#/home/.encrypted /home/safe fuse user,exec,allow_other,noauto 0 0
