This morning I tried using Build 2001041104. It filtered 4 incoming messages into one folder and 7 into another. I was able to read the first 4 filtered messages but not the 7 messages in the other folder. I tried deleting the MSF file and restarting but that didn't help. I reverted to build 2001031008 and was able to read the 7 messages. [And spellcheck my replies :-] At least Build 2001041104 is quick to prevent my reading my messages :-P

if you go back to 2001041104, you can't read the messages? I don't know what to suggest, other than you sending me the folder in question and I can try to load it.

I'll see if I can try this with a more recent build. Meanwhile additional information is that Mozilla build 2001041104 correctly downloads the headers and updates the header file so that build 2001031008 can read it.

Since I reported the bug the missing messages seem to have reappeared, but newly filtered messages have disappeared from the other folder instead.

Does an older version show all of your messages?

Build 2001031008 has proved amazingly reliable (ao much so that I now keep two installations of Mozilla, this build and a recent nightly). In particular I have never had any problems reading my IMAP mail. Nightlies will open my inbox and filter my mail but for some reason one of the folders with filtered mail doesn't read. Nightlies seem to download the headers, and 2001031008 subsequently agrees that there are no new headers (because the nightlies downloaded them), but they just doesn't seem to display them, not even after build 2001031008 read them. The latest nightly I tried was Apr 20th but I'm downloading another tonight.

Not really. I'm now using build 2001050204. The folder contains 1827 messages. Mozilla reports this figure correctly. I didn't bother checking the first 1787 messages so I assume they're OK. Mozilla appears to be displaying the first 1797 messages OK. However Mozilla is only displaying one of the last 30 messages - number 1803. My next biggest folder only contains 1640 messages but they all display OK.

Just out of the blue (I had almost given up on this :-) a recent nightly decided that it had to rebuild the folder again... and got it right this time! And it still works today! Resolve the bug how you want and I'll verify it if it's still OK tomorrow.

Now I can't get Mozilla to open that IMAP folder properly :-( 1. Select the dodgy folder. Throbber starts spinning. 2. Wait several minutes. Throbber still spinning. No progress. 3. Click Stop. Message list appears, but no new messages. 4. Click Get Messages. Still no new messages. 5. Select INBOX, then reselect the folder. Mozilla rereads entire folder. 6. Can now read new messages! Other folders open immediately. Is there some logging that I can try?
