User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/536.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/19.0.1084.46 Safari/536.5 Steps to reproduce: I use Lenovo Thinkpad R61 8919 with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32b. 1. I started an application, which uses the WinAPI DwmEnableComposition() function to turn off the Aero environment if there's no AC adaptor plugged in. This helps my laptop to reduce its power consumption while running on battery. 2. I hibernated the OS. 3. I unplugged the AC adaptor. 4. I resumed the OS. The application turned the Aero off. 5. After doing some work in my Thunderbird (and also some other applications), I hibernated the OS again. 6. I plugged the AC adaptor in. 7. I resumed the OS. The application turned the Aero on. I attached the Aero Switcher application below. It's a bit buggy, but great for my personal purposes. Actual results: The Thunderbird main window was no longer visible. It was possible to minimize/resume (or "hide" with help of the MinTrayR plugin) it, but with no visual effect. I had to close it and run it again. Thunderbird is bugged this way since version 3 (or maybe even 2 - my memory's not perfect at all). Expected results: Thunderbird have had to work as usual.
Is this also true for Firefox ?
(In reply to Ludovic Hirlimann [:Usul] from comment #1) > Is this also true for Firefox ? No, Firefox behaves normally.
And one more thing... Steps 2 to 7 can be reduced in this manner (it makes the bug much more simple to reproduce): 1. I started an application (Aero Switcher), which uses the WinAPI DwmEnableComposition() function to turn off the Aero environment if there's no AC adaptor plugged in. This helps my laptop to reduce its power consumption while running on battery. 2. I mimimized my Thunderbird to a tray icon (MinTrayR plugin). 3. I turned Aero off using the Aero Switcher application. 4. I resumed Thinderbird and minimized the Thunderbird again. 5. I turned Aero on using the Aero Switcher application. 6. Thunderbird is now bugged. Maybe it has something to do with the MinTrayR plugin.
Severity: normal → S3
