Very often, when I click the notification about a new Nightly update nothing happens. My guess is that the Nightly instance that sent that notification has been killed in the mean time and the new instance doesn't know about that notification.
I assume you click on this notification in the Android notification bar. This has nothing to do with clicking on content. Yes, there is an issue with updates when Nightly has been killed in the background.
