User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
Build ID: 20120420145725

Steps to reproduce:

This time I composed a plain text mail with text copied from Notepad++, where it was carefully composed.

It was an article acceptance mail for [comp.lang.c++.moderated] moderation.

We send whole articles including headers in the mail body.

Actual results:

Thunderbird **** it up by (1) actively and very selectively removing critical leading spaces on the reference header lines in the article, and (2) Thunderbird **** it up by actively and very selectively adding leading spaces on quoted lines.

The lines it removed leading spaces from started with "<". The lines it added leading spaces to started with ">".

What fuckwit implemented this sabotaging behavior, and what über-fuckwit okayed it?

Expected results:

Thunderbird should have posted the text exactly as entered.

It should not have tried to sabotage things by adding leading spaces on some lines.

It should not have tried to sabotage things be removing leading spaces on some lines.
I am sorry that you are frustrated at the incorrect behaviour of Thunderbird. However, bugzilla is a place where our community works, both paid and volunteer, and we need this to be a nice place for our community to work and resolve bugs.

We do not tolerate abuse in the community, and the language you are using is not acceptable. Therefore I am resolving this straight away as invalid, as I do not think it reasonable to ask anyone to work on this report.

If you wish to file a new bug that isn't abusive, that follows our etiquette (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=etiquette.html) and gives some more examples of what exactly went wrong, then we may be able to help you.

If you have issues with this, please feel free to email me direct, and I will discuss them further.
