Details

User Agent: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 5.1; U; de) Presto/2.10.229 Version/11.64 Steps to reproduce: Firefox 12 was installed, and after that the maintenance service was manually uninstalled (Mozilla Maintenance Service\Uninstall.exe /S). Later on Firefox 13 was installed (Firefox Setup 13.0.exe /S). OS is Windows XP 32Bit. Actual results: After installation of Firefox 13 the maintenance service was installed again. Expected results: It is my understanding that updates of Firefox honor the decision that the maintenance service was uninstalled and do not reinstall it on every update. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Windows_Service_Silent_Update#Service_installation states that the service will not be installed if it was previously installed and manually uninstalled.
It will not be re-installed if it was previously uninstalled via updates. But if you manually install, then yes it will get installed again unless you uncheck the checkbox for installing it. I can see you are running the installers silently though, and we should add a command line option for that. I think there is another bug for that but I can't find it at the moment.
