Not sure why yet but it looks like that controller.tabs.getTab() is not that stable when the referenced window has been reopened a bit before.

I have seen this when I was working on bug 761569 and getTab returned a document which defaultView was not accessible with 'can't access dead object'. For testing purposes the following test can be used on OS X:

I will try to put together a minimized testcase for this issue which we should fix in Mozmill 2.0.

We have only seen this problem a very few times so far in our tests, so I don't think this is something to fix.

Also Mozmill will reach its end of life soon. We are currently working on getting all the tests for Firefox ported to Marionette. For status updates please see bug 1080766.
