Nightly 16.0a1 2012-06-07 Device: HTC Desire (Android 2.2)/ Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Android 4.0.2) Steps to reproduce: 1. Load msnbc.com 2. Scroll down to the slideshow section. 3. Open a picture slideshow. 4. Use the back/forward controls to navigate through the picture slideshow. Expected results: Every picture is completely loaded. Actual results: Only the left side of the picture and text is loaded. Issue is not reproducible on Firefox Mobile Native 14 beta 6 or Aurora 15.0a2 2012-06-07 Notes: Please see the videocapture: http://youtu.be/_KjjzqVO6fs
Version: Firefox 14 → Firefox 16
I didn't see this behaviour on the build I have on my device (local m-c build from a couple of days ago). Would be good to get a regression range.
Good build: 2012-06-06 Bad build: 2012-06-07 Possible regression range: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=6338a8988917&tochange=7e4c2abb9fc9
Loading the slideshow on msnbc.com I don't even get a slideshow any more. It just has a bulleted list of pictures and text. For some reason it looks like they're not even sending us <script> tags.
Kats - do you think this may be a more widespread web regression? Or limited to msnbc?

I just re-tested on both a Galaxy Nexus and a desktop build (using UA spoofing) and I'm still getting the bulleted list. The HTML they're sending us is bad, so moving to evangelism. I don't think this is a widespread problem; it's probably just a bug in their UA-detection code.

Thanks kats.
I can't reproduce this issue on any channel. The slideshow works as expected. Kats, with what version of Android and Firefox did you test? Firefox 15 Beta 16 Aurora 17.0a2 2012-09-11 Nightly 18.0a1 2012-09-12 Samsung Galaxy S2 Android ICS 4.0.4
For reference, both msnbc.com and msnbc.msn.com redirect to nbcnews.com.
When I tried in comment #5 that was on a Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.1, and a local build of Firefox off of m-c. However I just tried it again and it looks like some of the slideshows render properly and others do not. Right now on when I go the page there are three slideshows listed - "Marking the 11th anniversary of 9/11", "The Week in Sports Pictures" and "Twin sons of different parties". Of these three, only the sports one renders as a bulleted list (and this is the page I loaded last time). The other two render properly as slideshows.
I also see this behaviour on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 running Honeycomb, in Fx 15, 16, and 18.
I'm resolving this bug as fixed as: 1. I can no longer reproduce the problem reported in the description. 2. Fennec, Android Stock, and Chrome all display a bulleted list for The Week in Sports as reported in comment #3.
