This is needed to so I have gcc available to compile mac ports so I can install wget which is used in some of the puppet again scripts. My apple id doesn't have access to Mountain Lion downloads.
Also, is there newer version of the 10.8 beta available for this machine?
Per our meeting today, I presume you no longer need xcode command lines tools installed. Yes, there is a newer version. 10.8 mountain lion 4 preview release is available. You can upgrade it via the apple store app. I have successfully upgrade r5-puppetagain-2 remotely via VNC.
I don't have the access to the right apple id to upgrade it. So I need someone from relops to upgrade it to the mountain lion 4 preview release :-)
Summary: please install Xcode command line tools on r5-puppetagain-1.build.scl1.mozilla.com → upgrade mountain lion on r5-puppetagain-1 to preview release v4
Kim: I know Jake is planning on taking care of this (because the upgrade from lion->mtn lion turns off remote access, so I suspect there might be issues upgrading between preview versions, too), but you should talk to coop about getting you access to the paid apple developer account.
Okay, I asked him about it before and he said I shouldn't worry about it because relops has an account :-) I'll ask again?
We should set up the mountain lion ref server with a vanilla install of 10.7, then upgrade to preview 4 update 2. We should then take a snapshot of that machine and deploy it to the puppet test servers as well as the mountain lion talos boxes that just came in.
Since we are a while off from having Deploy Studio fixed to handle 10.8, I have gone ahead and updated r5-puppetagain-1.build.scl1.m.c to OSX 10.8 build 12A269 (OS X Mountain Lion GM Seed)
