Details

This is occurring in my TB 15 local builds (debug and release).

STR:

1) Compose a message, and drag a small file image into it.
2) Send.

Expected: message sends
Actual: Message percent done indicator stop at about 40%. Eventually message send times out without sending message.

In DOS console and error console (messages) I see:

Security Error: Content at moz-nullprincipal:{89d7e3c2-8aec-4b24-8e1b-b867f83b8e38} may not load or link to about:blank.

I get the same errors when TB tries to save the message to drafts.
This is WFM using a tinderbox build:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120612 Thunderbird/15.0a2 ID:20120612134124
X86_64 problem?
Today, after Windows updates and a reboot, I can no longer reproduce this.

So I'll just consider this a random glitch for now.
