Until bug 758383 is fixed I'd like to be able to move my experiment forward.

Could you create a temp mozillalabs domain for my vcap domain.  You don't have to use my name suggestion (search.mozillalabs.com) you could even give me search-vcap.mozillalabs.com if that's easier.  The name isn't really that important to me just that the SSL cert is valid.

Currently you can't do any kind of communication between your add-on and the vcap sites because the user must approve the security exception first.

Once DNS makes its way around, you'll have to map your app to this new url by doing something like

$> vmc map search search-vcap.mozillalabs.com
