When user uses the -ms switch then Firefox gets installed silently along with the maintenance service. I propose an additional -nms switch (No Maintenance Service) that acts like -ms but does not install the maintenance service. Or make -nms a separate switch (in that case user has to use -ms -nms).

Not to be confused with bug 741174 that adds option to /INI to skip the installation of the maintenace service. There are situations where using an /INI is not possible or reasonable so a new general switch is nessesary.

Marked as enhanchement and P5 as it's not a big issue for most people. However as a sysadmin i like my installers to have silent switches to opt-out of various component installs.

Reason why i dont want the Maintenance Service installed by default is that i like to review the changes to the new stable version before installing it to users, in order to ensure everything works as it should. Granted, i should problably use the ESR release, but i like having new features delivered quicker and our company is not that big.
Just linking these up so I can easily find this later on.
Depends on: 741174

I just noticed this bug, but we actually implemented this feature a while back in bug 1425468; the parameter to use is /MaintenanceService=false. We also added a bunch of other parameters which are all documented here.
