User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1 Build ID: 20120614114901 Steps to reproduce: receiving lots of notifications from facebook. semi-manually sorting them into a separat mail folder. Actual results: after some 32k unread (and some few hundreds of read) mails the folder choked working. no more mail could be moved to it. mo meaningful message was produced - just erratic behaviour. Expected results: a) find a better was of informing the end user about the root cause of that problem. b) offer a short time work-around solution for the user (e.g. implement numbered archives, like my_mail, my_mail.001, my_mail.002... for cases where the limit is reached or even) c) kill such size limitation in mail box folders in general.
I don't think there is a 32k limit on the number of messages in the folder. I have a test folder with 600k msgs. Can you try repairing the folder (right click->properties->repair) ?
