on win98, it works for me.

ctrl-a selects all, and if in threaded mode, expands all threads and then
selects ctrl-shift-a expands and selects the current thread.

when the message pane has focus, ctrl-a selects all the text in the message body.

is this a linux only problem? I remember ctrl-a not working at other times (like
when the message pane has focus) on linux.

can you start a bug and cc brade? I think she may know something about it.

I suspect the bindings just aren't there.  I'd check, but I don't
know where the mail/news bindings live.  Seth, do you know where they
live, or failing that, do you know who handles key bindings for
mail/news?  I've been trying to find out for a long time, and
people ask about mail key bindings fairly often on the newsgroups
(accessibility, unix, and mail-news).

This bug will probably be affected by my fix for bug #74643.  I hope to check in 
that as soon as the tree opens after 0.9 branches.

Reopening, Since nothing happens on linux when using Ctrl+A:
- composer window
- new message/compose window

Additional Information:
- Linux, Mail thread pane works
- Linux, mnemonics work

This bug is specific to the message 3-pane window.  There is another bug for
Composer select all.

Close this bug as fixed (again).
