"Alert me when downloading an image" fires twice

If my preferences are set to "accept all images" and "alert me when downloading
an image" is checked, I am always prompted two times if I want to accept images
from any new site I visit.
I expect it to just prompt me once, unless perhaps I'm not using this feature in
the way in which it was intended. I'm not entirely sure how the "alert me when
downloading an image" is supposed to interact with the "accept/deny all images"
option.
In case there is a timing issue involved with this bug, please note that I'm
using a modem to connect.
Using Mozilla 20010141704 on Windows 95.

This could be a consequence of the rewrite of imagelib.

After setting the same preferences (Advanced>Images) with an otherwise fresh
profile I get only one alert per new website; 2001-04-18-04 on WinNT.
Kevin, you made a typo in the Build ID you reported: was the month "01" or
"04"? If the former, this is probably a WORKSFORME; if the latter there may
be some other wrinkle...

Sorry about that typo in my original info :( .
It should say that I'm using Mozilla build 2001041704 on Win 95.

uh, these shouldn't currently be getting fired at all.

There's something very strange going on. On sites such as www.mozilla.org,
these are not getting fired even once more due to bug 73848. But then on other
sites they are still getting fired such as www.mozillazine.org. I have not
investigated to figure out what is different between these two types of sites.

In that case, the fact that I was seeing the alert *once* may mean that
the reported bug still exists.

It appears that this bug has been fixed. I cannot reproduce with Mac 9.2
nightly 20011031 or Win98 0.9.5

What I've noticed lately is that the dialog box ("Do you want to allow the
image") seems to fire once with regards to the background image, and then a
second time for the other images on the page.
If the page doesn't have a background image, I'm no longer getting duplicate
dialogue boxes.

so should this be marked WORKSFORME?

No, this has not been completely fixed.
The dialogue still fires twice if the page has a background image. One time for
the background, and then again if the page has other images to download.
If the page has no background image, however, this appears to work normally.

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but the "alert me when downloading
an image" option no longer exists at all. I'm not exactly sure when this
disappeared, but I suspect it was just during the last few days.
