Hey Varada,
Your fix for the thread pane splitter the other day ended up breaking the
original bug I made the first change for.

Using todays build if I resize the thread / message pane splitter, I can no
longer display messages. =(
Using 2001041704 on win 2000 which according to the checkin logs should have
varada's change, I can both collapse and resize the thread pane splitter as much
as I want and still display messages. Is there something in particular that has
to be done to get in this state?
I can repro this in one way. Close the splitter. Then instead of clicking open
the splitter, drag the splitter up. Then I can't display messages. However I
can click the splitter closed and then click it open and messages can display
again which still seems preferable to the way it was before.

If there's an easier way to reproduce this then perhaps this should be backed on
and it should be investigated whether or not onmouseup works or if there is an
onopen or onclose that can be used.

all i have to do to reproduce this is resize the thread pane splitter. No
collapsing necessary. I run into at least once ever time I start up mail 'cause
I play around with the splitter a lot.
I cannot reproduce this unless I do the steps putterman stated: collapse pane &
open it by dragging it. Apr19 commercial build, win98.
Depends on: 77172
Apparently if you grab the splitter on the side without using the grippy you can
run into this problem. Varada has a workaround for this.

yes, I'm sure you're right. Seth is working on a real fix for this.

Resizing the thread pane splitter can be a solution. We tried it out for http://www.buythesisonline.org/thesis-help.php to define if onmouseup works.
