User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0
Build ID: 20120601045813
Steps to reproduce:
- open Local folder A
- create filter to move some mails to Local folder B
- manually execute filter on folder A
Actual results:
--> arbitrary mail from folder A, which was not selected before, now becomes selected, which causes this mail flagged to 'read', if it was unread before.
The problem is, that the user may oversee this, if not meticulously observing the UI.
This bug also happens, if no mail in folder A was selected before filter execution.
Expected results:
No before unselected mail should be selected after filter execution, even if any filtered mail was selected before.

Component: Message Reader UI → Filters
Product: Thunderbird → MailNews Core
QA Contact: message-reader → filters
The 1st part of the problem (in opposite to "no mail in folder A was selected") even occurs without filter execution involved.
- open Local folder A
- select a mail X
- reset flag from read to unread
- deselect mail by Ctrl-click
- open other folder
- open Local folder A
--> mail X is again selected and flagged as read

comment 1 is likely an existing, old bug report. Unless you can't reproduce it in older versions

Ulf, this is an imap folder?
Summary: mail automatically flagged as read after manual filter execution → unfiltered mail in source folder automatically flagged as read after manual filter execution

No, as you can see from comment #0.
That's why it can't be dupl. of bug 379931 ;-)

Does it allways reproduce?
Have you determined this a regression?
I can't reproduce this with current dailly build.
Can you test that it also happens with daily build? (currently v16)

Yes!

No, IIRC I see this behaviour since I'm using TB, at least variation from comment 1.

Where do I get daily build?
How can I install daily build without overwriting/destroying my release 13 installation?

Does this reproduce in a new profile?
