Details

Sometimes changes aren't reflected in a web page that I'm working on until it occurs to me to hit shift-reload, which often comes after having wasted some number of minutes chasing down a different theory of the problem (sometimes even shift-reload won't evict, and I need to use the "Clear Recent History dialog). It would make for a less frustrating development experience if it were possible to turn off all caching in "development mode". Chrome does this with a single preference on its developer tools panel. I'm not quite sure what the right UX for Firefox is, given its non-monolithic tools setup. But the current Chrome setup currently feels less frustrating than the current Firefox setup, so it seems like there's value in attacking this issue.
