We have set this.rate=5 in the web trends code for the legacy Firefox Start page: view-source:http://start.mozilla.org/en-US/js/webtrends.js However the report data clearly indicates that the data is being sampled at 100%. Will you take a look and let us know why it's not working?
The rate does not work because it is the wrong version of the tag. There is no function to set the rate in our base tag. You'll need to use the tag that is on the home page and set the dcsid accordingly for the start page

Is this what created the incompatible base tag? Or were incorrect options selected? Will changing the tag at this point corrupt any analytics we've collected thus far? That is, is there a risk to changing the tag code at this stage?

Bill: Can you attach a zip file of the correct tag and code that we should be using on start.mozilla.org?

Does it matter that it is start.mozilla.org and not .com?

Christie: Can we get this new WebTrends tag deployed on start.mozilla.org asap as it is blocking me from bumping up mozilla.org to 100% sampling rate and deploying a single tag for the whole site.

Bill's patch has been added to the codebase. Should just need to run the generator and deploy. Fred, can you take care of that?

You'd just file an IT bug, as we've done previously for that site. Let me clone one of the previous ones.

(In reply to Bill from comment #18) > This is not set up properly yet.The tag is the same and does not match the > attached version on this bug. Which code isn't correct? I've compared the webtrends.js being served from production with the one you provided and they are the same. Here's the link I'm using to test: http://start-dev.allizom.org/en-US/js/webtrends.js

I was looking at the production site. The webtrends.js that is being served the is not the same that is in your link.

(In reply to Bill from comment #22) > http://start.mozilla.org/en-US/ Same here. It's not loading the js I linked to above? What is it loading? Have you tried shift-reload to grab the new version?

These two JS files are identical: http://start-dev.allizom.org/en-US/js/webtrends.js http://start.mozilla.org/en-US/js/webtrends.js they are also the same as attached JS file in comment 8. Bill: Can you check the file you attached in comment 8?

Just an FYI, The issue with the cache will mean that a true %5 sampling will not oocur for a while. Looks like we are at around 30% for the profile.
