mysqldwatcher.pl should be added to the executable files in checksetup.pl, or
moved to contrib.

mysqlwatcher.pl is cool, but it's littered with comments like "This should be a
param" and "this should do more error-checking." Perhaps it would be sensible to
move it into contrib.

OK, I moved this into contrib.  Since it's now in contrib, do we care if it's 
executable anymore?  There's a decided lack of directions in the file for how to 
use it.  (I'm guessing by the look of it that it's designed to be run as a cron 
job once every few minutes)

ping endico - you guys use this.  how's it work?  care to add any docs?

BTW, you might need to change the path to your cronjob next time you update if 
that's how it's being run.
