Details
On Samsung Galaxy Note running ICS, Firefox for Android has inconsistent Back key behavior when opening new tabs, depending on how you opened it.
* If a website opens a link in a new tab, pressing the bottom left "hardware" Back key will close that tab and go back to the previous one.
* If you manually click the tab UI and the (+) to open a new tab and load content, pressing the Back key will instead jump out of Firefox and take you back to the Android home screen. The only way to close a tab you chose to open manually is to click the tab UI again, click to close the tab, and click outside to get back to the web page -- 3 clicks in total.

Actually, what you describe _is_ consistent with the way the back button works on Android. Using the back button should never close a tab you opened directly in Fennec.
Only tabs that are opened externally should be closed when using the back button.
This seems resolved.
