RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 787186

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1
Build ID: 20120614114901

Steps to reproduce:

In Thunderbird 13, message lists for all feed folders are empty when I start Thunderbird. New feed messages that come in after startup show up, but older messages do not. Switching to another folder and back causes the old messages to reappear.

The message counts in the status bar are correct even with the empty view.

Only feed folders show this problem. Local and IMAP folders display properly at startup.

Reproduced from Tb13 up to the current Aurora.
To be clear, this affects only views that are already selected at startup (including in other tabs).
Summary: Feed views are empty at startup → Feed views selected at startup are empty
Component: Folder and Message Lists → Feed Reader
Product: Thunderbird → MailNews Core
QA Contact: folders-message-lists → feed.reader
This problem persists in Thunderbird 15.0 and current Aurora (17.0a2).

To reproduce, simply open a feed in a tab and restart Thunderbird. For me, old messages do not appear in the feed view after the restart.
Actually, things seem to have gotten much worse in Thunderbird 15.0. Now feed views are becoming empty (when Thunderbird checks for new feed messages, I think) even when Thunderbird is already open, with only newly downloaded feed items appearing.

I'm going to hold off filing a separate bug, since this new problem seems to be closely related to the one described here.
