Haven't tried this on mac or linux.
Overview: Have a profile which has 2 login dialogs appearing when Mail starts.
Install a newer version and when Mail opens, the first dialog is basically white
with black text. It does not appear to have a theme.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a profile with 2 accounts
a. Go to Edit|Mail/News Account Settings
b. For each account go to the Server panel and select the option to "Check for
new mail at startup".
c. If it is successful then 2 login dialogs should appear after an exit/restart.
2. Install a newer version
a. Start Mail
Actual Results: The first login dialog appears without the Modern theme
appearance (white with black text). Then, quickly, a second dialog appears with
the Modern theme.
After an exit/restart then the first login now appears to have the Modern theme
and so does the second. It appears to be a problem only after a new install and
starting mail for the first time.
Expected Results: The first login dialog should appear just as the second
dialog, with the Modern theme.
Additional Information:
- The above test was using the Modern theme. I haven't tried Classic yet.

This is puzzling. My guess is that this is a chrome registry problem.

Branch build 2001-10-09-05: WinMe, modern
Branch build 2001-10-09-03: Mac 9.1, classic
Branch build 2001-10-09-04: Linux RH 7.1, classic
Appears to be working for me now.
I can duplicate this bug using today's BRANCH commercial bits on Win 2K.
In my case, first account is my personal imap account, second account is my
personal webmail account. Both of these accounts have "Check mail at startup"
turned on. On launching mail, the webmail password dialog appears at the bottom
with skin and my imap account password dialog appears on top of it without
theme.
