770654 - Can't create an account on developer.mozilla.org

I got developer.mozilla.org and login with browserid.  Then I am taking to a page that says:

"We couldn't find an MDN profile for your BrowserID. If you're new here, you can pick an MDN username now and complete your registration.
You can access everything on the MDN website even without an account, but when you join you'll be able to edit docs, submit demos, and have your own profile page."

I put in a username (TanviVyas) and click Create a New Profile.  I am redirected to a Permission Denied page that says:

"We're sorry, we're afraid we can't do that.
    •    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/users/login to try again.
    •    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/users/register to edit docs and submit demos.
    •    https://developer.mozilla.org/demos or https://developer.mozilla.org/docs
No computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error. So it can only be attributable to human error. If so, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Mozilla%20Developer%20Network&component=Website for my human operators."

When I click the register page, browserid pops up again and asks me to signin.  I end up in an infinite loop and cannot create an mdn account.

I've created the account; we will not resolve whatever the underlying problem is since all edits are switching to Kuma starting on Thursday anyway.

Just so it's documented somewhere...

I used the credentials that I got from Eric, but ended up on the same Permissions Denied page.  So I tried it in Safari (maybe its ghostery or the fact that third party cookies are disabled on Firefox?  though I doubt it.) and was able to link my account with my browserid login.  And now can login via Firefox.  Not sure why the linking flow didn't work on Firefox, but I guess it doesn't matter since this is all changing on Thursday.
