User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20120703041519 Steps to reproduce: Opened FB on Nightly Started playing Hidden Chronicles Actual results: Very slow to load, usually have to Refresh Also have seen several Flash crashes since getting 11.3.300.262 Expected results: What I have noticed: Before Flash 11.3 when I played a Flash game there was only Plugin-container running in Task Manager and when you closed the game the process closed. After Flash 11.3, I now have 3 processes running in Task Manager. The Plugin-container and 2 Flash PlayerPlug In's for 11.3.300.262. These process are not running when I open FB, they appear when I play a game, but do NOT close when closing the game.
Follow https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes Disabling protected mode in Flash 11.3 should fix your crashes, read chapter "last resort" on http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0
Alex, do we have a Flash 11.3 meta-bug? This is likely a dupe of something we have on file already.
Component: Untriaged → Flash (Adobe)

(In reply to Anthony Hughes, Mozilla QA (irc: ashughes) from comment #2) > Alex, do we have a Flash 11.3 meta-bug? This is likely a dupe of something > we have on file already. We're putting [flash-11.3] in the whiteboard of all 11.3-related bugs. At this point in the investigation, it's difficult to say if this is a dupe. Anthony - can you check whether or not you're able to reproduce with protected mode enabled? If not, this bug likely isn't actionable.

Unable to reproduce playing Hidden Chronicles on Facebook. Build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0 ID:20120712030541 Flash: 11.3.300.265 Results: * When I log in to Facebook I get 2 Flash processes immediately. * Playing the game I notice no slow-downs, hangs, or crashes. * Leaving Facebook, the Flash processes remain active. * Restarting Firefox closes the Flash processes. Retesting with Flash 11.2...
Build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0 ID:20120712030541 Flash: 11.2.202.235 Results: * When I log in to Facebook I get a single plugincontainer process (no Flash processes). * Playing the game I notice no slow-downs, hangs, or crashes. * Leaving Facebook, the plugincontainer process remains active. * Restarting Firefox closes the plugincontainer process. So I think I'm seeing the same behaviour, but it's not resulting in any performance issues nor crashes.
Just to summarize... Flash 11.2 * plugin-container.exe loads on first use, doesn't close when not in use Flash 11.3: * plugin-container.exe loads on first use, doesn't close when not in use * 2 Flash plugin processes load on first use, doesn't close when not in use I'm assuming these additional processes are tied to the new "protected mode" feature. That said, I never reproduced any performance/hang/crash issues. That said, I think the extra processes are probably expected, though we need follow-up from Adobe on this bug.

I'm closing a lot of bugs which are filed as Adobe Flash bugs which are either irrelevant, not actionable, or not serious enough to track in the Mozilla bug tracker. For the most part, Flash bugs should be filed in Adobe bugbase, and we'll only track a few highly-critical issues in the Mozilla tracker.
