Support selecting a sender-based notification in the properties of a contact like it's in the Options->General-Tab. Probably also so that you can specify a custom notification for whole address lists. With such a feature it's easier to distinguish between important, instant must-read e-mails and those you can read later. Alternatively I could think of a customizable (sound) notification when a message filter finds sth but that would probably be another enhancement report.
Can you try to expand all the ideas you have for that ?

General idea: Make this (see attachment) customizable based on sender (->contact properties) or address book list (->list properties). 1st: Add a new tab to the contact properties with a similiar interface where you can select a custom notification for this contact only that overrides the default one. 2nd: Make address list properties tabbed and add a new tab like above. Obviously the more specific setting overrides the less specific one(s). The 3rd idea I thought about was adding a notification when a message filter "filters sth". But as this is done after downloading(?) and therefore after the normal new-message-notification it doesn't really make sense because there would be two notifications then.
Severity: normal → S3

I wonder why this wish never got any traction.
The notifications are basically useless as they are right now, since it is an all-in or all-out situation.
All other mail clients are doing it much better, automatically categorizing your emails. I don't need a "call to action" for every junk mail I get.
