User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_7_4) AppleWebKit/536.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/20.0.1132.47 Safari/536.11 Steps to reproduce: One hugely important tag missing from the document page is META[name="description"]. This tag is a goldmine, allowing us to mostly dictate the document's Google summary. What I do with my blog, which has been hugely successful, is extract the first paragraph of the document text and use that as the summary.
This is very important. Thanks for opening a bug about it. Ali: This would really help our appearance in search results, but we don't have this on the current MDN either. Thoughts on priority?
(In reply to John Karahalis [:openjck] from comment #1) > Thoughts on priority? Pretty high, sometimes in August I would say. (Not the only SEO improvement we need to do)
This is done here, but needs unit tests: https://github.com/darkwing/kuma/tree/seo-google-impact-772116 I've also included Open Graph tags so sharing on Facebook, etc. is much richer.
Will be fixed: https://github.com/mozilla/kuma/pull/392
The PR was accepted. YAY SEO!
