Placeholder bug while I get "The Den" localized in Portuguese.
We need a version of the graphic that Ty created for The Den (blog.mozilla.org/theden) and for the Spanish version, La Guarida (http://blog.mozilla.org/laguaridadefirefox/) with Portuguese text.
The blog will launch (hopefully) by the end of September.
As soon as I have the translation for "The Den" I'll update this bug.

Thanks Carmen. Is there an approach we can take that doesn't require custom localization of the graphic for new locales?
Whiteboard: Pending content from Carmen
So our choices would be
1. Redesign the graphic for The Den without text, and use it across all locales.
I don't think the current graphic would be as effective without the sign with text on it.
2. Localize the graphic for each new locale.
The only change is the text, and it's one change per quarter. Is there work involved that I'm unaware of? I suppose I could do it with the PSD file, I just get concerned for languages that take up more space, and need kerning and such. But if you want to give me the PSD file, I can give it a shot.
I like the current graphic, but if you'd like to take the time to redesign one that would work in all locales, I can do that, too. Just let me know.

Thanks. I didn't mean to suggest a new illustration necessarily, but perhaps we could change the way the font is displayed so it's done as a new layer in code vs. embedded into the illustration... though we'd surely lose the gradient and effect it being carved into the wood. I'm just trying to see how we can optimize so we don't have to adjust the graphic each time, and it could be handled in implementation. Just a though... not sure if it's feasible.
Ah, I see. I don't know right off, but I can surely ask about the layer in code.

Carmen, please be sure to wipe the whiteboard section of this bug clear once you've got the necessary content direction. Otherwise I may accidentally gloss over it in triage. Thanks so much!

Hey Carmen, friendly ping. Is this bug still active? meaning, are we still waiting for content updates or has this been placed on hold due to other priorities? I'd like to keep the bug list updated as much as I can and remove idle/old bugs when possible. Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi Tara - thanks for the ping.
I just heard from Mike Alexis Friday. We're on track for this in the next few weeks, so it'd be nice to get it moving along if we can. Say, end of October?

well, I think I'm still waiting for the translation, right? once we have that we can move this along. If you can also share the source file for the graphic / font that would be helpful as well. I'm not sure who did the original design.
Ah yes, the translation would, indeed, be key to this task. I'll get that rolling.
Ty did the original design and the Spanish version, so he should have the source files. (hoping, anyway, because I don't have them.)
Stay tuned.

Ty, I'm hoping you can help knock this out when the translation comes in.
